This book goes a long way in explaining why this is true.First of all, Blake was deeply affected by his personal relationship with Jesus Christ and his worship of God. It permeates his poetry and his paintings. In the Age of Reason, romantic poets who seemed 'old fashioned' were easily ignored. Blake made a living as a printer and envisioned angels perched in trees in his yard.Nowadays some would have Blake himself in those trees but he needs to be remembered as a mortal being who simply produced inspired literature at a high level.
